With a new UI design, a new rendering engine, better resource management and a claimed over 2x improved performance compared to Firefox 6months ago, the new version is finally out of beta.
Quantum claims ~30% lesser memory usage than Chrome and a faster tab switch. The UI now has a smaller footprint on the screen,leaving more space for the actual web page and the useful features have all been moved under a menu button to the right.
The only downside for some to the new version is that while it keeps compatibility with certain extensions, some will need to be updated to work with it.
Firefox Quantum is now available on Windows, Linux Distros, Android, Mac and iOS.
